This was soon followed by a group of Hellenist Jews who took up the notion that the significance of the Jesus event was the salvific effects of the death and resurrection which abrcgated the Torah. Paul, first as persecutor, having his "vision" on the road Damascus to where the group had fled. Paul then joined this group from which he received his Christ myth gospel which became Gentile Christianity or orthodox Christianity. This could mean something similar to the cult of Dionysus, drug or alcohol induced or emotion-filled ecstasy, or rational thought.

The major problem is that scholars too often dismiss these phenomena because it is not within their realm of experience.

Rev. But because ultimately we may have no other choice in this matter. I have the impression growing out of the experiences chronicled here, that it may be seeking us out". We are going to get a lot of help from paleoanthropology, looking at this evolved impulse toward the pleasure of the sublime, and how we devised technologies to achieve that pleasure. So many of these old texts suddenly become clear as records of this phenomenon. It is not necessary... (or, perhaps, desireable?) for the writer to "have all of the answers"... I don't think that the author is "suggesting" anything beyond what has been clearly stated here.Samhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00940795692757923048noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6536854065433425156.post-66716587572378449292014-04-11T11:17:05.378-07:002014-04-11T11:17:05.378-07:00There were a lot of suggestions framed as question...There were a lot of suggestions framed as questions at the end of this post.
