Apocryphote of the Day: 10-3-08

There are some who say, "We are faithful [...]." But if they had the holy spirit, unclean spirits would not cleave to them. Fear not the flesh nor love it. If you fear it, it will gain mastery over you. If you love it, it will swallow and paralyze you.

Gospel of Philip 65.36-66.7 (late second century Valentinian text; Syrian or Alexandrian?)

Is today's Apocryphote a commentary on last night's debate?

in this part of the Gospel of Philip 65.1-66.7 the "evil spirit" and the "unclean spirits and the demons" are the passions of the flesh that is why Philip uses these expressions together thus unclean spirits are the hinking of the flesh and therefore we should not fear nor love the flesh only if we have the spirit of Christ (the Christ-Consciousness)can we fight against the flesh
