It's just like ancient times

A vivid example of "holy misogyny" at work in the modern world. It's just like ancient times when women were erased from memory. Hilary Clinton literally erased from photo in a religious newspaper (story and photo reported here). Why?
Brooklyn-based Di-Tzeitung, which never runs pictures of women because they might be "sexually suggestive," also removed the only other woman in the room, Counterterrorism Director Audrey Tomason.
The paper's response to our outrage? A contradiction to common sense (of course this relegates women to a lower status - it eliminates them!), but I guess if it is said enough by religious authorities we buy it as true:
In accord with our religious beliefs, we do not publish photos of women, which in no way relegates them to a lower status. Publishing a newspaper is a big responsibility, and our policies are guided by a Rabbinical Board. Because of laws of modesty, we are not allowed to publish pictures of women, and we regret if this gives an impression of disparaging to women, which is certainly never our intention. We apologize if this was seen as offensive.

Thanks for posting, April. I will definitely be using this one in class as an analogy to what happened in the ancient world and early Christian texts.

I think you may be wrong. I think that they simply were running a picture, different from the one that all the other news outlet's ran. This picture was taken before H. Clinton took off here invisibility cloak.

Gosh, I can just imagine how sexually provactively Hilary Clinton and the counterterrorism director were dressed at this meeting... NOT.

Certain religions may be ancient, but they and how their holy books are interpreted should evolve and adapt to the times - in keeping with the "spirit" of the law/God's intention, not the letter.

I fail to see how Hillary Clinton can be considered an object of lust under any circumstances.

If you can lie like this, you can lie about anything....

Did you hear my forehead slap from where you are sitting?

I mean these turkeys (no offense to people from turkey; or to birds) did just tell Israel to go back to the 1967 borders, right?!!? I'd erase every last one of them from the newspaper if I was that newspaper, and instead of their real names I'd use unflattering nicknames. I'd call Hillary "the wife of Slick Willie" (not to be sexist, but to be snarky) and Obummer, well, either Obummer, or "that guy from Kenya who thinks he's HaMoshiach" or some other such circumlocution.

I would say that Israel should go back to the 1948 borders.

Cheers!

I'd say Israel should be purchased by Six Flags and made into a giant theme park.
