Happy Birthday Mani

Mani, the great gnostic visionary, intellect, poet, painter and creator of the first world religion Manichaeanism, was born in 216 CE on April 14th, 1,983 years ago. I'll eat a cucumber tonight in your memory.

Manicheanism still survives as a folk religion in Quanzhou, China. Fruits and vegetables are still being offered to the statues of the prophet. Until 20th century, a Chinese Manichean liturgy was even used as an incantation in exorcism!
