Thanks to Doug Chaplin for posting this link to Palin's interview which Doug calls PALIN DRONE - the interview which I referred to in my last post. You really do have to see it to believe it.
I am terrified at the prospect that this person who can barely answer simple questions could be our next VP. The journalist appears more knowledgeable than she.

Well, Dr. DeConick you are quite right, she is a pretty simple person. Sounds a lot like Bush struggling to find the right words to express himself and remaining stuck in redundancies. How we love sophistication and slick speakers. They could sell us the Brooklyn Bridge or the Taj Mahal. And as I’m a pacifist all this naïve talk about “good guys” and “bad guys” and attacking this or that side does not impress me in the least. I certainly would have preferred someone like Mary Ann Glendon.
Now we could do worse. We could have slick talker Andrew Sullivan running with his agenda. Opps! But that’s Obama’s agenda. No way José will buy that. Here’s a link (in Spanish) for those that can recognize the bigger issues, 45,000,000 issues: http://www.catholicnewsagency.com/new.php?n=13886
The world needs principles not more smooth talkers and we need a couple more principled judges on the Supreme Court.
José,
There is a difference between simply stating something, and not knowing what the heck you are talking about. If elected, this person would be one heartbeat away from being the President of the United States. Put plainly, she doesn't know what is going on or what to do. She will be nothing more than a figurehead which a republican administration (i.e. Bush's old guard) will be operating through. If this doesn't scare you, in my opinion, it should.
“She will be nothing more than a figurehead which a republican administration (i.e. Bush's old guard) will be operating through.”
I know this will be a difficult thing for the liberal idealists seeking a redeemer in the White House to accept, but “Bush’s old guard” is essentially the same company operating through Obama/Biden. The major economic and “national defense” questions are decided by the military industrial complex and the multinational corporations. Liberal realists such as myself have known this for a long time. There is no way that they will not be steering whoever becomes president. This economic-national defense mechanism is firmly established and it really does not matter much if you get ignoramus Bush in the White House or intellectual lecher and flagrant liar Bill Clinton.
As Noam Chomsky has eloquently brought out, the only place a president might be able to make a difference is in the areas where there is no significant expenditure of money or impact world hegemony. This is where the great divide exists between contemporary left wing liberals and right wing conservatives. The big questions that can be impacted relate to the 45,000,000 babies slaughtered since Roe vs. Wade and the defense of marriage. Who gets into the Supreme Court and may turn the tide on moral issues is what we need to vote on. This is why a liberal Democrat such as myself, who opposes the culture of death and depravity fueled by Obama, will vote for McCain/Palin.
So, Dr. DeConick, have no fear that a simple person like Palin becomes vice-president. The major decisions of war and peace, national defense and money-making will be made by the same powers that control Obama/Biden. They will literally call the shots.
Peace.
