Apocryphote of the Day: 4-1-08

It is I who am the part of my mother.
It is I who am the mother.
It is I who am the wife.
It is I who am the virgin.
It is I who am pregnant.
It is I who am the midwife.
It is I who am the one that comforts pains of travail.
It is my husband who bore me.
It is I who am his mother.
It is he who is my father and my lord.
It is he who is my force.
What he desires, he says with reason.
I am in the process of becoming.
Yet I have borne a man as lord.

Mother Nature...Mother God....the Holy Spirit....Proverbs 8:27, perhaps.

I agree with JMS ... but this text is a bit different from the other descriptions of female Wisdom (Proverbs/Ben Sira/W of Solomon).
It is also different from the feminine Divine imagery of Trimorphic Protennoia and Thunder Perfect Mind.

I have no idea, other than someone who enjoys baffling her readers with contradictions. Maybe not unlike the Buddha.

My vote is for sophia, much akin to Thunder.

It's the Shekinah/Holy Spirit. This is the feminine essence/aspect or energy that we all have within us, whether our physical gender is male or female (just as we all have a male essence/aspect or energies, as well).

Female energy is quiet, passive, nurturing, intuitive (while male energy is active, forceful and reasoning/logical). Male energy acts while female energy just is ("in the process of becoming"). One often hears of "motion and rest" in mystical/spiritual teachings. Motion is the male energy, while rest is female energy.

The feminine seeks to be expressed in all of us but it is not so obvious and often remains hidden within - we need to seek her in stillness - just "be" - to experience her. She is the one who inspires our ideas in the world of spirit but it takes male energy to manifest our creation - to bring an idea forth, give it birth and make it a reality in the physical world. Thus, "It is my husband who bore me" yet "It is I who am his mother."

"Yet I have born a man as lord" to me is symbolic of how God made Spirit (the Word/Wisdom) to become manifest in flesh as Jesus (the ideal Adam, Adam returned to Eden). It took the male, active, creative aspect/energy of God in union with the female aspect/energy of the Shekinah/Holy Spirit to bring mankind and the physical world into being.

I've heard stories of children with sexual identity problems; a boy three years old who would rather wear a dress to school and is adamant he is a girl? What if these are signs... reminders ... that we are ONE ....male and female? Could it be proof .... sexuality is more of a spiritual, than a carnal nature?
